SO yeah. I decided to skip out on getting direct deposit on one of my jobs so that I could have the "variety" of new errands to run during the day. I thought that adding an additional bank trip and trip to work to pick up my check would "broaden my range of activities and spice up my life...

boy was I wrong. Check day comes by and I always find myself short on time to pick it up. The day to deposit the check comes and I find myself in really long lines playing my PSP (and trust me, I do that enough already). So maybe I will call HR and ask them for that convenient deirect deposit.

Hard Work LOST!!!

Well after spending some time cooring my storyboard for an upcoming animation I had a mishap. Now outside of my digital workflow I can tend to lose things and misplace others. When it comes to my work though I'm always on top of it. Being careful to have backups, saving constantly, layering everything out and isolating certain elements for ease of editing. This time though I was coloring with my tablet and talking to my friends. By the time I noticed that one of my color layers was totally gone...it was too late. I ended up accidentally deleting 12 frames of coloring! Of course since I was using the tablet Edit Undo did not go far back enough to catch the mistake....all that work lost.

So here is the black and white version of the storyboard followed by the few color frames I managed to not delete over:

Ah this goes to show you how Capcom got it right on this one. Too bad the english port of Monster Hunter Freedom 2G won't be making it to the states. Such a dissapointment considering the game broke records in Japan as far as sales go. Sony total sales were boosted about 14% due to the more than 2 million copies sold. Not to mention the fact that the game continues to be a sole reason why people pick up a PSP in the first place.

I can't help but feel like going back to Ecuador...especially Sucua. Last week the Ecuadorian soccer team "Liga Universitaria" won the famous liberators Cups in Brazil and I knew ALL of Ecuador would be partying for a whole week. It was the first time ever since the cup started that an Ecuadorian team won the cup. Im not even really much of a soccer buff myself but soccer is so embedded into the culture you can't help but watch along with everyone else and feel proud.

Atlanta after the Storm

Saturday night me and my brother went out to take pictures of the damage the tornado had caused. It wasn't until after the fact that I go there that I regretted not taking my 400mm lens to capture a lot of the broken windows from the buildings. Many of these busted out windows were not able to be caaptured at the 50mm focal range. Of course all the windows are boarded up now. There were still pieces of glass falling when we went so we could not get too close to some of the buildings. I also wish I would have taken my tripod (had to use random objects to put my camera on...not a good idea).

Sadly the Red tail catfish is close to gone. He does not eat and thrashes about violently, most likely battling the internal worms that are killing him. After some moldy rice and a quick flick of the shutter I think i might have the solution for my bob cummings project. I currently have an incomplete in my graphic design in pop culture class and hopefully these new elements will help me come together with a new working concept that Jeff can appreciate.

*******Wow, my red tail catfish is going CRAZY....he must have done about 40 flips in the water, hitting himself all over the glass.....now hes swimming around clumsily......waters' all over the place.....hope he'll be fine.***

The man was good.
His talk about not letting the computer software limit you is something i think about on and on. Kyle mentioned how alot of designs can look similar because the designers depend on the software too much. His fundmaental and resourceful skills are genuine to say the least.

I got to take pictures of Mr. Kennedy and Emanuelle Davis. Mr. Kennedy didnt drop out of character at all....and he was pretty hung over i would say. Emanuelle was amusing to say the least...but at the same time i felt like i was listening to a guru when he opened his mouth.....dont ask why.
I cant forget the picture of all of us at the kojo griffin gallery, where i won $10 in sam flax money and 25 dollar subscription to something i dont know about.

Well well the semester seems to be wrapping up rather quickly and I still don't know whether i want to use my walk the line poster or my pirates poster for the contest. It's also time to start thinking about my internship this summer. Jeff told me to check out brashmusic.com. I'll see if i do some research on it tomorow and call farbad since he interned there.
As far as any new material goes....its coming along. I made a temporary dvd cover design for Fall of Machismo (it might have been what helped me get in the kojo gallery, lol)

I ended up visiting Charleston SC over the weekend and was lucky to find out that pirates had a strong presence there in the Past. I also took a ghost tour where our tour guide was dressed up like a pirate. All in all bein on the coast and seeing all the palm trees and pirate references gave me alittle comfort with the project at hand.
